i wish they know how they made me happy

So in my previous post last night, I was ranting about me not having the so-called "Christmas spirit". And I thought that shopping will give me the spirit of anticipation for Christmas; but to the nth time I was again, wrong. I'll quote what Ruth said awhile ago, "Is there any thing else worth fulfilling, aside from starting the 12th month of the year in helping the innocent and sweet children that were abandoned by their parents".

We celebrated Sofia's birthday by spending an afternoon in an orphanage (St. Rita Orphanage). Six children with sweet smiles and with their friendly little eyes changed my perception about life and especially about how will I celebrated this season of Christmas. I looked in their eyes and I see their sadness of being abandoned by their parents but a part of my mind said that I should not pity them, rather I should give them a salute for being fighters. They really gave meaning to my Christmas and I felt so guilty for being so selfish about this holiday, I realize who needs new clothes, gadgets and fancy new things this Christmas, if you can't even help the people who can't have the thing they need. This afternoon I felt a sense of fulfillment just to see the smiles on their faces and enjoying the toys, clothes and food that we gave.

One thing I learned today; I so lucky to have a family to spend Christmas with. And I have my friends who give more spice to my life. To Majorn, Nicole, Natalie, JC, JP and Jennifer; words are not enough to show my gratitude for making the start of this month fulfilling, and I hope I'll see them again. I will definitely cherish this day forever, cliche as it sounds, but this day is definitely worth remembering. Merry Christmas everyone!! 24 freak'n days before Christmas :) click here for the pictures..
