I only have two days to prepare to the upcoming departmental test. It was shorten period today, which means early dismissal, there is nothing worth sharing for today, it is just a stereotype day: discussions, seatworks plus a long homily from Ms. Gonzales with matching teary-eyes. But I still enjoy this day, wala lang I just feel happy nowadays. I just post today because I want to share to you a news about Chris Tiu. Yesterday Ruth told me that Chris Tiu will be playing basketball for the RP team in the upcoming SEAgames, so I decided to search the net of more proofs. Pros, Gabe eyed to form core of RP 5 By ABAC CORDERO The Philippines Star The RP men’s basketball team for the coming 24th Southeast Asian Games in Thailand has pushed the panic button. A month before the games, Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas president Manny Pangilinan, executive director Patrick Gregorio and RP team godfather Mikee Romero have called for a revamp of the current team which would include a number of pro players. "If we send the current team to the SEA Games, I don’t think we can win the gold medal," Romero, the youthful owner of Harbour Centre, said Wednesday. In a lengthy meeting the other night at the PLDT main office in Makati, the SBP brass, including Ricky Vargas, Chino Trinidad, Christian Tan, and coaches Junel Baculi, Louie Alas, Fritz Gaston and Frankie Lim, came up with a list of candidates for inclusion to the team while keeping the nucleaus of the squad. They are Arwind Santos, KG Canaleta, Ranidel de Ocampo, Wynne Arboleda, Homer Se and Egay Billones of Air21 in the PBA, Gabe Norwood, Elmer Espiritu, Al Vergara and TY Tang of the PBL, Chris Tiu of the UAAP and Ogie Menor of the NCAA. But PBA chair Tony Chua of Red Bull said the plan of tapping players from Air21 to reinforce the RP squad is not possible. "We have an understanding with the SBP that the PBA will only provide players for the Asian Games and FIBA-Asia and not the Southeast Asian Games. So it’s very doubtful that it will be approved by the board," Chua told The STAR last night. PBA acting commissioner Sonny Barrios, for his part, said the SBP has yet to inform the league about its plan and even if they do, it would clash with the agreement forged by the SBP and the league. "There is an existing policy regarding the PBA’s role in SBP and unless the board make amendments or reverses its own, the policy stays," said Barrios. From the current roster, only Beau Belga, Jason Castro, Chad Alonzo and Alex Crisano look sure of keeping their posts. The others will have to undergo serious consideration to make it to Thailand. "New names were generated to reinforce the team and help us keep the gold which is quite important for the country. We’re doing what’s needed to be done. Just give us a few days," said Pangilinan. "We realize that. We’re aware of that (time constraint). We’re appealing to the PBA to help out. There’s an issue. There’s a problem but we have to deal with it. We have to confront the issue. And in dealing with it everybody will have to cooperate. We’re not asking PBA to give up their marquee players," said Pangilinan. "This is going to be the first gold medal for the SBP," said Gregorio. I'm excited in our role playing in CLVE "Kasal-kasalan" John M. and Mica will be the couple..I'll try to bring my camera so I can take some pictures.
